It’s raining out, I’m cold, and I don’t have anything warm to mix my whisky with. What is a gal to do?
Make toddies, obviously. It’s very easy and most of the ingredients are things most people have on hand (I hope). Enjoy with a friend, or if you’re like me this evening, curled up in bed alone with some great TV.
- 1 cup of hot water
- 1 tea bag (black, green, ginger…)
- 1/4 lemon
- 1/2 tbsp honey
- 2 oz bourbon
- Bring water to a boil.
- Meanwhile, in a mug, combine the bourbon and the lemon.
- Once the water is ready, pour 1 cup into the mug. Add the honey.
- Let the tea steep for 2-3 minutes, depending on the type of tea. Remove the tea bag once it’s done.
- Stir and enjoy!
